Well, say goodbye to that pain of searching: the 'Search in Company Data [Preview]' feature in Business Central's 2023 Wave 1 release is here to make it easier for you!
Before, it might have felt like hunting for a needle in a haystack when you needed to locate specific data. But now, with just a few keystrokes (Ctrl+Alt+F), you can effortlessly search across all your company data, including customers, vendors, and items. This improvement mirrors the intuitive global search features we've become accustomed to in modern applications.
Finally, Business Central is catching up with the digital age's expectations, making data access quicker, easier, and more efficient. This change demonstrates Microsoft's commitment to enhancing user experience and functionality - transforming how we interact with our ERP data.
So how do you get started? If you are on Business Central v22, search for “Search”…..hahaha….that’s just weird writing that. Depending on your role, the option may already be within your main page.

From here, you will be presented with a window where you can enter the text you want to search for. In this case, I wanted to see records where “Adatum” shows up.
With the example below, it provided me four (4) tables where “Adatum” is located:

Contacts
Customers
Customer Ledger Entries
